The economy is shaping up to be the major focus for the last week of the City of Sydney Lord Mayoral race according to Liberal candidate Councillor Shayne Mallard.
“Gathering economic storm clouds and an incompetent NSW Labor government leave the people of Sydney with one major issue to consider when voting this Saturday,†Councillor Mallard said. “With growing economic uncertainty now is not the time to risk the City of Sydney’s finances and economic growth on another big spending left wing Lord Mayor or Councillors.†“Sydney can no longer indulge Clover Moore’s out of control spending spree of a $200,000 per day underlying cash deficit for the next four years,†Mallard said. “The people of Sydney can vote for the big spending, big taxing and big government candidates in Clover Moore MP, Labor or the Greens. “Or they can vote for the fiscally responsible mainstream Lord Mayor in Shayne Mallard and Liberal Party,†Councillor Mallard added. “Labor’s new 2% ‘silly’ business tax shows just how out of touch with jobs growth and the economy of Sydney they have become.†“Clover Moore and the Greens have voted for a $200,000 per day cash deficit each day for the next four years.†If elected Councillor Mallard committed to reign in the Council’s big spending Clover Moore budget.
