Thank you for your support
I am writing to thank you on behalf of the Liberal Action Team for your interest and support in my campaign for the City of Sydney.

Whilst the final election results are not in, it appears that Clover Moore MP has been returned with an outright majority on the Council and the Greens have increased their position at the expense of Labor.

The Liberal Party can be satisfied that we improved our vote by 4%. As I travelled around the polling booths I was delighted by the positive response our policies on car parking and the city economy were receiving from voters. The 4% swing should be seen as support for these strong policies and I will use my position on the Council in the coming term to argue the agenda we set in this election.

I would like to thank the volunteers and supporters who worked on the campaign and on polling day. I would like take this opportunity to thank the great team who took time out of their busy work lives to stand with me for election. My team presented a very credible alternative Council.

The new Council will meet later this month and eCouncillor will resume its usual monthly format. Thank you to the readers for your advice and support.

Sydney’s Economic Prosperity at Risk this Saturday
On Saturday voters of Sydney will elect a new City Council. I lead the only team with a firm focus on our City’s economic future and growth.

This week at the Property Council of Australia’s Lord Mayoral debate I was the only candidate talking about our economic future. Whilst the Greens and Clover Moore squabbled about donations and Labor’s Meredith Bergmann announced a new 2% tax. I took the debate where it needs to be in these economically uncertain times.

Clover Moore’s Sydney2030 strategy is economically flawed as it proposes to halve our jobs growth in the next few years. The Australian Financial Review reported my debate under the heading ‘2030 strategy ‘a plan to fail.’ I am attaching the article for your reference. Extracts from the debate were aired on ABC News last night and I understand more will be shown on State Line tonight at 730pm. Finally this election has turned to the issues that really matter for Sydney.

It is clear that with the gathering storm clouds of economic uncertainty Sydney cannot afford the indulgences of this Big Spending, Big Taxing & Big Government Lord Mayor and her $200,000 per day deficit budget for the next 4 years.

On behalf of our Liberal Action Team I would like to thank all eCouncillor readers for their positive feedback and generosity over the campaign.

This Saturday’s election is a choice between Moore big spending or balance and accountability from Mallard’s Liberal Action Team at Town Hall.

Sydney is Open for Business - Under New Management
In four short years Sydney has lost its international business confidence.

Regrettably the current Lord Mayor has talked Sydney down undermining our business confidence both domestically and overseas. She has failed to promote the City to international investors. Investment and jobs have been driven away with constant public attacks on Sydney’s infrastructure and the environment.

As Lord Mayor with my Liberal Action Team we will regain Sydney’s business confidence. We say ‘Sydney is open for business – Under New Management’.

Election Choice between Moore Big Spending or Financial Responsibility
Only six days to go before residents and ratepayers elect a new Lord Mayor and Council for the City of Sydney. This election is about two choices.

The voters can choose one of the three big spending, big taxing and big government candidates in Lord Mayor Clover Moore MP, Labor Left’s Dr Meredith Bergman or Green Chris Harris.

Or they can vote for the only financially responsible mainstream candidate in this election, Shayne Mallard and the Liberal Action Team.

Time for a new generation of positive Leadership for Sydney
In the midst of Sydney's China Town and the nostalgia for the good days of the Sydney Olympics, I was honoured to launch my Liberal team's challenge for the top job at Sydney Town Hall by calling for generational change and a new positive leadership for the City.
